Halloween Sightings: Big Lots 08/04/13

I stopped in Big Lots over the weekend hoping to find some of the old Matty collector Ghostbusters figures that have been reportedly popping up at the discount chain.  While I had zero luck on that end I was able to see some the store's new 2013 Halloween products.  While they were still busy getting everything out they seemed to have a majority of it on the shelves.

The crawling hand stood out but I couldn't get a good idea of it's quality with the thing shackled to the box.  I'm assuming once it's turned loose it will trek across flat surfaces Evil Dead 2 style but the motors on these seemed a bit weak, could very well be the battery though.

A lot of people have been praising this as the 'must have' Big Lots product of the season.  I will say it is pretty cool, once activated a small LED lights up the cage and the little plastic bat flaps around and goes haywire.  It's neat, but it was hard to find a cage that had both a working light and a working bat.  Be sure to give it a few good test runs before purchasing.

A whole bunch of lawn ornaments...A little to cutesy for my liking, but most were of decent quality and were moderately priced.  I'm hoping the selection grows a bit before all is said and done.

Lastly they were working on this small end cap with more big items to litter a lawn with...I am kind of partial to the pumpkin with the ghosts but I'm kind of nervous to have stuff like this out on the lawn as the neighborhood kids seem a bit on the sketchy side.

Again, this is just a small sampling...Can't wait until they load up on the sweet stuff.  I'm hoping to get a lot of trick or treaters this year and my goal is to give them all candy-induced diabetes.  Okay, not really.

Edit 08/05/13: I managed to make it back to Big Lots only to be greeted by more items!

My plan is to fill the entire fireplace up with lit jack-o-lanterns this year.  I'm hoping to create these myself using some of the foam pumpkins hobby shops sell, if I cannot find enough at a good price though I might stop back by and pick up some here...The price is right and they're of good quality...They're just in need of a better paint job.
