Hallmark Horror! 2014 is the company's most terrifying year to date!

I never thought I'd be covering Hallmark's Ornament line on this website but this year they're really giving genre fans a lot to drool over.  It's not just one ornament either, a total of four monster movie icons will be making their ornament debut this year.

My favorite of the lot is Frankenstein's Monster from the infamous 1931 Universal film.  The ornament has a spot on Karloff likeness and I'm really excited to see it in person.

Next up we have the original xenomorph from Ridley Scott's Alien, I've really got to hand it to the sculptors over at Hallmark as they've really out done themselves with this creature.  Between this guy and Frankenstein I had an extremely tough time choosing a favorite,  I guess I'm just a sucker for the lumbering green monster.

Which brings us too Godzilla, who's certainly no slouch in the sculpt department.  As if having this famous monster hanging from your tree wasn't enough, with the push of a button Godzilla will interrupt your favorite Christmas carols with his iconic roar.

Hallmart delivers yet another frightening icon of the film-world in the form of Bruce from Jaws.  Not only does the great white feature his three barrels, he also plays the unforgettable Jaws theme.

But wait, there's more!  In addition to those four fan favorite characters the company is adding a few more ornaments to their already popular Nightmare Before ChristmasScooby Doo, and recent Happy Halloween lines
I wouldn't say I'm the biggest fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, I do however have an odd obsession with translucent green slime.  When you can give that slime a battery powered glow you've got my money.

Who doesn't like Scooby Doo?  I've got a few Hallmark's past 'Doo releases and I think this would make a fine addition to the collection.

Lastly is the second ornament in the company's new Happy Halloween series.  If you're familiar with Hallmark than you know they do a lot of small scenes inside Christmas bulbs.  They've basically October-ized that concept using a small pumpkin.  I definitely dig it.  This is just a small sample of what the company has planned for this season, they're also continuing with their onslaught of Sci-fi properties with plenty of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Planet of the Apes characters.  Head on over to their official site for a full rundown of releases!
